35 Years of the Economy of Communion: A Journey of Renewal.
As part of these celebrations, we invite you to join us for a special event on May 29 and 30 at the “Usina del Arte” Cultural Center in the La Boca neighborhood of Buenos Aires. In this little corner of Buenos Aires, we can truly feel its history. Thus, the tangos, the cobblestone streets, and the boats speak to us of immigration, work, and commitment, but above all, they invite us to reflect on “new beginnings.”
With this special gathering, we will delve into the roots of the Economy of Communion, seeking to give space to all voices—especially those that are usually unheard—and to share our diverse experiences. We will address the wounds of our society and of the earth, and from there, we will breathe new life into them. It will be a genuine invitation to “regenerate ourselves.”
Together, starting from the realities of the most vulnerable, from entrepreneurial initiatives, from the academic world, and from the community, we will chart the next steps to respond to today’s challenges. These will be inspiring days to renew our passion and our commitment to this way of living the economy.
We share the program with you and hope that you will let this invitation touch you deeply. Buenos Aires awaits us!
Voices of the Economy of Communion From every corner of the globe, entrepreneurs, workers, researchers, and enthusiasts gather in Latin America. The opening of the meeting is entrusted to the voices of those who live the EoC every day: a collective welcome from Latin America to the entire global community.
Regenerating Our Earth How do those living the Economy of Communion respond to the planet’s environmental and social wounds? Stories, experiences, and concrete projects show us the EoC at work in caring for the Earth—with a special focus on the voices and wisdom of indigenous peoples. An invitation to look at our common home with new eyes, and with hands ready to act.
Regenerating Ourselves Through Local Experiences After days spent in local communities across Latin America, it is time to bring everything together. In small listening circles, each participant shares their experiences, discovers what unites them with others, and is enriched by diversity. Regeneration always begins with encounter.
The Path of Entrepreneurship in the Economy of Communion Doing business in the Economy of Communion is not just a professional choice: it is a calling that transforms people and organizations from within. In this session, key figures from every sector—from the small artisan to the large corporation—take the floor to explain what it means to do business as an act of communion, on a journey that is always open and never definitive.
35th Anniversary Celebration A moment of collective celebration to mark 35 years of an economy in motion. Because shared milestones are celebrated together—with gratitude for the past and our eyes already turned toward the future.
A vocation that unites us What has brought us this far? And what keeps us together, beyond geographical and cultural distances? In this session, we explore the founding pact of the global Economy of Communion community: a choice that is not abstract, but translates every day into concrete gestures of fraternity and justice.
Paths for the Future Thirty-five years, thousands of stories, a global gathering: what do we take with us? In this session, the collective wisdom of the assembly takes shape—from the threads that have emerged over these days, visions and concrete proposals arise to guide the path of the Economy of Communion over the next five years.
Beyond Buenos Aires The gathering does not end: it transforms. The closing of the proceedings is the moment when the global community of the Economy of Communion gathers the meaning of these days and sets out anew—renewed—toward their own contexts, to continue building a more just and fraternal economy.
