Wishes from the International EoC Commission
Dear friends of the EoC around the world,
In the world, suffering is so pervasive—in wars, injustices, and misunderstandings—that it seems to permeate every corner of human life. Sometimes the cry of suffering is so loud it takes our breath away, leaving us frozen, unable to act or even react. The weariness of those who struggle to keep hope alive is great.
Yet Easter is approaching. It returns, as it does every year, but it is never the same: it is a living memory and, at the same time, an invitation to deep reflection.
In the passage from death to life, we are given a certainty: love conquers all, even when our eyes see the opposite.
Sometimes there is nothing else to do but remain on the cross or at the foot of the cross, like Mary. A humble, vulnerable, yet faithful “standing”.
To be there, side by side, together with those who suffer and cry out, in an active waiting for the resurrection, anticipating the definitive victory of life over death, believing that communion among us and with everyone is what can regenerate us and regenerate the many wounds.
