The Netherlands: an EoC Summer Conference on ESG was held in Mariënkroon

From 30 August to 1 September, the EoC Summer Conference entitled ‘Co-Creating Business Strategies Based on ESG Values’ took place in Mariënkroon.

The Conference was organized with support from the Porticus Foundation, which provided funding for an event centred on Values-Based Management. The organisers were very satisfied with the success of the weekend.

The conference was conducted by a diverse team of professional consultants, led by Markus Ressl.There were 45 participants, mainly from Northern and Eastern Europe. Over the three days, all major aspects of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) were covered in the light of EoC values.

240901 06 Summer Conference Mariencroon 02 400 ridESG provides a framework to verify, measure, monitor and support a company’s or organization’s commitment to sustainability across three key areas: that of the environment (Environmental) the social impact (Social) and that of Governance, and is based on a series of criteria and standards for measuring the environmental, social and governance activities of an organisation. These criteria are then translated into a set of operational procedures and good practices that should inspire the activities of a company to ensure the achievement of objectives related to the environmental and social impact, as well as to quality and ethics in governance.

240901 06 Summer Conference Mariencroon 04 400 ridAs part of the rich conference programme, all the main aspects of ESG in the light of the EoC were addressed, and through the presentation of an innovative business model, real cases of EoC companies were discussed, assessing how to improve the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects of each of the companies observed.

Various academic contributions were also made, including Annette Pelkmans-Balaoing and Aiza Asi from the Sophia University Institute and Deborah Gervasi from the University of Enna.

At the conference, a platform was launched to create an innovative network for promoting value-based leadership. Through this platform, experts will develop courses to bring EOC values to the business and management world. The first courses are planned for the spring and summer of 2025 at Mariënkroon.

Participants include: Koen Vanreusel (Belgium), Matt Driver (UK), John Mundell (via zoom) and a dozen young professionals.

The conference team was composed of Markus Ressl (Austria), Tibor Hejj (Hungary), Frank Jungmann (Germany), Gianni Garofal (Holland), Michel Bronzwaer (Holland), Annette Pelkmans (Holland), AdVerest (Holland), Raymond Bronzwaer (Holland).
