«And I am confident above all in you young people, who are capable of dreaming and who are prepared to build, with the help of God, a more just and beautiful world.».

Pope Francis, Letter for the Economy of Francesco, 1 May 2019

Six years after Pope Francis’s initial call to action in 2019, the Economy of Francesco continues to grow as a global movement, bringing together talented young people from around the world, from diverse backgrounds, academic paths, and professions, yet united by a shared commitment to respond creatively to the Pope’s invitation to change today’s economy and give a soul to the economy of tomorrow.

The EoF 2025 Global Event in Castel Gandolfo is the ideal context to renew this momentum. It is not only a checkpoint for EoF Restarting the Economy 400 ridour collective journey — an opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved so far — but also a space where new ideas can emerge and open up new horizons for discussion. The year 2025 is especially significant, as it marks the Jubilee Year, which brings added energy, inspiration and vision to this process of change, both individually and collectively, starting from a place of hope.

It is in this spirit that we propose a call for a special flash presentations session, not only to share new ideas but to highlight truly extraordinary ones — capable of pointing to patterns for further development within the framework of EoF and the hopeful journey it inspires in the field of economics. This session aims to celebrate and showcase ideas in this spirit through a dynamic and engaging format of flash presentations, as described below. The goal is to spotlight breakthrough insights, creative projects, and impactful initiatives that embody a forward-looking vision for a more just and sustainable economy — following in the footsteps of Francis of Assisi.

While this vision of hope within EoF particularly aims to engage with urgent issues such as marginalization (e.g. liberation from modern forms of slavery, debt, exploitation, and indignity), care for the environment (e.g. rest for the land, a regenerative rather than extractive economy), we are especially interested in contributions that present concrete, feasible, and committed initiatives by anyone interested in participating in the session. The proposals should offer a programmatic perspective for the years ahead along these stages.

Specifically, we invite contributions in three broad categories that reflect the core identities shaping the EoF Community: Entrepreneurs, Scholars, and Changemakers.

Please consider applying to ONE of the calls below.

We also encourage research exploring themes such as a care-centered economy, rest and transformation, AI and integral human development.
