Logo_generativitaGeneratività (Generativity) - a virtual archive of social, cultural and economic initiatives that are "generative" of values, ideas and positive practices. Part of the Geniusloci project, Generativitá highlights initiatives that are already operative, even if often hidden, in the today's Italian society.

The project was presented during an animated meeting-debate on September 30 in Rome, and it is promoted by the Luigi Sturzo Institute in collaboration with ALMED - the Upper school of media communication and shows of Catholic University - together with a group of university professors and researchers, including economists like Luigino Bruni and representatives of Civil Economy, like Johnny Dotti of Welfare Italia. With this project, these entities intend to rediscover the various aspects of a "generative Italy".

The word generativity, explains Mauro Magatti, dean of the Sociology department of the Catholic University of Milan and an essential member of its research team, has the same root as "generosity" and that is why it explains the heart of this project so well, that is, "spending our life for true cultural change..., trying to find meaning in the facts we come across."

The research completed up until how has lead to identifying, analyzing and archiving 20 "generative" experiences from throughout the Italian territory. They are now gathered and told through videos available on The next step of the project will be the implementation of this archive to reveal the "generative" Italian soul, capable of enriching the meaning of social living, more and more.
