Since the inception of the project in Brazil, beside an experimental city of the Focolare movement, the need became evident to create a business pole, which may give visibility to the project of the economy of communion and could work as a connection for all the participating companies.

today the Brazilian pole is a reality, consisting of nine working companies, example and model of an alternative economy.

For the management of the Pole "Spartaco" a joint-stock company has been created (having 3000 stockholders at the moment). It has acquired some land and has built some hangars that it rents to companies taking part in the project of the economy of communion.

Uniben was born in 1998 in the Spartaco pole thanks to some businessmen who were looking for a way to help incoming or developing small startups connected to the project. At the moment three people work there. Uniben is a factoring company. It provides services in the financial sector, a very risky domain because of the very frequent insolvencies. Since money is essential for companies to thrive, Uniben's dusk task consists of putting money at their service.

It was born in1995 from seven partners to meet the challenge of EoC. At the beginning in a 40m² facility, a thousand litres a month of detergents were produced, to be sold door to door or to small. A year later Eco-ar moved into the Pole, succeeding little by little in conquering a share in a market that, until then, was controlled by multinational companies.
