Paris: Beautiful Feedbacks from the EoC’s 20 Years Seminar

The feedbacks from the September 10 seminar in Paris were exciting. The seminar was entitled “Economy of Communion, Challenges and Developments” in collaboration with the Institute of Political Leon Harmel (IPLH), partner of Sophia University Institute. With the large participation, people were very happy to be in contact with Economy of Communion.

“A very important stage for the EoC in our country,” says Chantal Grevin, coordinator of the EoC project with her husband Jose in France, “because economists have shared their views on the EoC, showing how it can be a beacon in the crisis today.”

“Many of the participants,” continued Chantal, “appreciated very much the talk of Gérard Thoris and Elena Lasida and the panel discussion with Luigino Bruni became a moment of communion. The testimonies of earlier entrepreneurs (Frédéric Dupont, Jean Millerat, Antoine Campredon, and Jean-Louis Plot) had a powerful effect, bringing the participants to the “heart” of the EoC: life. Albert-Alexis Galland, member of the Christian Entrepreneurs Association wished the EoC not to blow out its 20 birthday candles, but leave them lit so that they can illuminate the world today. Also the mayor, Michel Coquillion, Vice-President of the Economic and Social Council of France, saw the EoC as a beacon of hope. The founder and director of IPLH said, “In the Church there were great eras: the Fathers of the Church, the encyclicals of the popes; now we start another one which begins with Chiara Lubich, that of communion.”

“All this,” Chantal concludes, “goes beyond all we could hope for, and it is the work of God: we are witnesses of the wonders that He does.”
