The XXII edition of the Peace Forum is a reflection on Solidarity of the Economy and the Economy of Communion as an alternative to building peace, wanting to create an area of knowledge and diffusion of social and economic experiences as source of human development.
The Peace Forum is an academic, political and social life space of the Diocese of Sonsòn-Rionegro that intends to analyze problems affecting the region and propose alternative solutions.

Over the years the Forum have discussed important issues for the region such as the armed conflict, reintegration, reconciliation, relocation, living together, human development. Among those involved were personalities and institutions with the most representative of the region: pastoral groups, employers, trade unions, educational institutions, social organizations, international community, trade unions, NGOs, etc.
Today the world is characterized by an increasing tendency of letting the market determine social relations, where all institutions, from families to schools, from the media to the State, are subject to the law of supply and demand. Our region is also characterized by this situation with the risk of turning into a commodity, even life itself. Therefore it is necessary to permeate the economy of renewed values to enable it also to generate social cohesion, justice and solidarity.
Currently the private sector in the eastern region is investing resources in industrial projects, energy, minerals and infrastructure. This flow of capital can be positive for the region, but must be accompanied by proposals for the distribution of wealth so that the proposed development may truly be integral and not present itself at the level wealth concentration. In this scenario, the Solidarity of the Economy and the Economy of Communion present themselves as alternatives and practical experiences to be replicated as alternative society models impregnated of the value of brotherhood the impersonal economy that turns people into objects.
