On September 18-19, 2008, at the University of Studies at Milano-Bicocca, the first convention on gift was held, entitled, "Gift: Its Ambivalence and Its Paradoxes. An Interdisciplinary Dialogue". It was attended by numerous presenters coming from all over Italy and representing various scientific areas.
Two years afterwards, we want to take up this meeting again and develop the debate over the question of gift. This time, we want to deepen the topic of the value of gift, linking it to the human experience of value and to the relevance of the theory of value in economy, ethics, anthropology and sociology.
